The is Merileigh Johnson’s go-to roast recipe. Merileigh is ranch foreman Caleb’s wife. They have three kids that all help on the ranch and this helps feed a hungry crew well. Great in the oven in the winter time, or put in a slow cooker for 8 hours during the summer time.
- 4-5 lb. Wellborn 2R Boneless Chuck Roast
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp. black pepper
- ¼ tsp. garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbsp. Tabasco
- 1 12 oz. bottle of chili sauce
- 1 12 oz. can of Coke
Rub salt, garlic powder, and black pepper on the roast & place in Dutch oven. Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the roast. Cover and bake at 350 for 3 ½ hours. Or place in a slow cooker on low for 8 hours.
